Fossil Fuel Foundation Membership Benefits
Membership of an independent organisation with wide interdisciplinary interests and exposure -through a non-aligned Trustbased Foundation with multidisciplinary activities and membership, the capacity to link all major sectors in the fossil fuel and energy communities and, thereby, to provide:
* Impartial and balanced views to government and others when called upon to do so, and
* Multidisciplinary teams of experts when required for specific projects or activities.
Networking – through association with key personnel and organisations in a wide variety of scientific, engineering, technical, financial, academic and government-linked disciplines throughout the fossil fuel and energy industries in Southern Africa.
Maintenance of competitive edge - through conferences and associated events, seminars, courses, special lectures, meetings with overseas specialists and notifications of tender advertisements, policy developments and research and development projects.
Information – through leading edge information contained in publications, including conference volumes, special subject publications and notifications and documentation from national and international organisations including the IEA, World Coal Institute and other international information and research centres.
Communication – through newsletters, websites, associated links and the circulation of notifications through the Foundation’s extensive database.
Education and Continuing Professional Development – through the advertising and promotion of a comprehensive matrix of undergraduate, postgraduate and in-service technical and non-technical courses provided by a variety of higher education institutions aimed at personal development in and across a wide range of fossil fuel, energy and related disciplines.
Career development – through mentoring and association with experienced members and peers in the fossil fuel and related industries, attendance at conferences and courses and access to the information and database provided by the Foundation.
Creates a platform for personal and corporate business opportunities – through exposure of companies and individual professionals during the course of technical events and through other forms of communication.
Representation – through membership of the Foundation on other national and international professional bodies, councils and associations, and through the participation and/or contribution of individual members on government-lead national and international initiatives, project teams, policy and strategy boards and related activities.
International coverage – through globally spread membership of the Foundation, links to a number of international organisations and through regional and international correspondents and associates in far distant shores.
Reduced fees for conferences, technical seminars and other events - through membership of the Foundation and its associated professional societies.
