Muna Lakhani of Earthlife Africa, writing in the Sunday Independent Forum 23/11/2008, critically attacks recent proponents of nuclear power and defends renewable energy sources by stating that there are many renewable energy technologies that provide electricity 24 hours a day including solar towers, ocean currents, wave power, run of river, biodigestion from sewage and other organic waste, algal farming for power and petrochemical products, etc. He states that many South Africans may be black and poor, “but stupid we are not”!
